Tips For Getting The Best Tamarindo Costa Rica Vacation Rentals
Pt. 6: What to do When You Get Here
In our last blog in the Tips For Tamarindo Vacation Rentals Series, we discussed How To Prepare for Your Trip: what to bring, what to wear, how to stay connected or unplug from it all. With the point being, ask questions, know what to expect, plan accordingly, and enjoy your trip to paradise. In other previous installments, we have gone over how to research and get ready before you get to Tamarindo. In this installment, we will discuss what to do once you are finally here!
All right, you are here in Tamarindo, finally; after all of your careful research, preparation, booking, packing, unpacking you are actually here in paradise! You have met with your rental agent and you are checking into your perfect Tamarindo vacation rental property. It might seem like the last thing you want to do upon arrival is go over a checklist, but there are a few things that might make your stay a lot more enjoyable if you take care of them immediately. First off, make sure you are getting what you paid for. This is where renting from a reputable property management service is key. You will seldom have a problem with being told one thing and sold another if you are working with a respected agency. It is a good idea to check out if everything promised is there and that everything is working properly. From time to time even the most well serviced and maintained properties might have electrical issues with appliances due to power surges and tropical moisture and such, so it’s a good idea to check out the air conditioners, fridge, etc. Once you have checked everything out and it is all in working order, now it’s time for you to enjoy all that Tamarindo has to offer. Ask your agent about what to do, and where to go. Many will have welcome packs with local information including maps, directories and area guides. Tamarindo even has it’s own free app for iPhone with attractions, advice, area guide and local businesses directory. Get your info and go have fun!
RELAX! But not too much…
What to do next? Relax! Traveling to a foreign country with language and cultural differences can be stressful for some. Remember back in blog 4 where we talked about Pura Vida? Now is the time to embrace that, trust us, it will make your transition much more enjoyable. You will find it easier to connect with the locals, and they will open up to you and might even show you the time of your life! Just be careful if someone seems a bit too eager or helpful. Be open, friendly, relaxed, but don’t forget to use common sense. That really nice guy on the street with the cheapest tour might not be the best choice. Consult with your rental agent if you are looking for advice on guides, tours, and excursions, as they work with trusted operators and services.
One thing is for sure: Tamarindo is fun! With something for everyone, from the peaceful naturalist to the nighttime reveler, you will not be bored on your vacation here, unless that is your goal. There is a lot to see and do here. You can check out the estuary and turtle sanctuary at Baulas National Park. Take in a local fiesta, where bull riders and daring locals tempt fate inside the ring. Surf some of the world-class waves in the area, or hook up a trophy on a fishing excursion. You can take in the sun on a pristine beach, sail, swim, dive, golf, party, dine, or shop! The list goes on and on. Tamarindo truly is special in its contrasts, variety, and spirit. So come on down, relax, and enjoy Pura Vida!
