Hotel Capitan Suizo

Capitan Suizo is an environmentally conscious and future-oriented beach Hotel.

It is an ideal place for relaxation that carries a tropical ambience and lies amongst a lush garden. With a discreet elegance and a touch of Swiss quality that blends with an informal and joyful atmosphere, Capitan Suizo is an oasis where it is implicit that nature and animals are integrated with love and respect.

The 7 bungalows, honeymoon bungalow, 22 rooms and the four-bedroom-suite are spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated. Some rooms have air conditioning and others are cooled by ceiling fans. All rooms benefit from a balcony or terrace, overlook tropical gardens and face towards the ocean. With a freeform swimming pool, an internet corner, a gift shop and a fenced in parking lot Capitan Suizo has everything you need to comfortable relax and enjoy your beach holidays.

In the open-air beachfront ‘a la carte’ Restaurant, the chef Roland Brodscholl has been delighting the guests since the opening of the hotel with his fusion of European cuisine and tropical influence. A great deal of importance is given to fresh ingredients and cooking “a la minute”. Over the years, the Restaurant has gained a distinct reputation in the region. During some days of the week the restaurant offers live-entertainment with marimba music and folkloric dance groups. During the dry season the restaurant hosts BBQs and private candle light dinners on the beach.

Capitán Suizo offers different activities in the hotel itself, such as a fitness corner, board games, a ping pong table, a volleyball net, boogie boards and the rental of surfboards, kayaks and mountain bikes. Furthermore Rosa at the information desk has a wide selection of tours, trips and organized activities to meet everybody’s taste and would be happy to find the right one for you.

I will be staying here again in a couple weeks ! By far, the best hotel in Tamarindo….excellent location, friendly staff, and right on the beach…..does not get any better :)

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, arriving Jan. 29 and leaving Feb. 5, and I was very happy with my decision to choose Capitan Suizo. The room was very nice with A/C which I would recommend as it was 90 degrees but with a wind. I don’t know if the wind would have made the unairconditioned rooms comfortable enough for us as we are from MT and are used to it cooling down at night.
This resort was wonderful and beautiful. The food was good, the people very accommodating and friendly, the location gorgeous. You can walk on the beach into Tamarindo, which is very touristy but that’s what we expected. We enjoyed looking in the shops and eating at local restaurants. Walk the beach, don’t walk the streets. The streets are not good and there are crazy drivers. We still felt comfortable enough with the roads to rent a car for a day. The rest of the time we found tours and other things to do.
I loved this resort and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Costa Rica.

Great place, we really felt very welcome and are looking forward to go back!
The hotel has the perfect location (right on the beach) and is just a few walking minutes away from the sometimes noisy town.
The hotel also has an amazing garden and a beautiful pool, the food we had (breakfast and dinner twice) was also delicious. The only problem we encountered was the slow internet, however, it did not seem faster in the town either.

People are right to call this the best place to stay in Tamarindo – a 100% recommendation!
