The house sleeps 8 in elegant comfort on two floors. The spacious downstairs living room opens out onto the terrace and beautiful infinity edge swimming pool.
The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cook top, food prep island and breakfast bar. The adjacent dining area features a table built to host a party of 10.
The downstairs master bedroom suite features a king size bed, desk, walk in closet, personal safe and LCD TV. French doors open out onto the terrace and swimming pool. The adjoining full bath features a Jacuzzi tub, separate shower, his and hers sinks as well as a toilet and bidet. All beds in the house have luxury mattresses and high thread count sheets.
Cable TV, high speed wireless internet, flat panel TVs in master bedrooms and land line. Fully air conditioned, built-in concealed units allow zone control with ceiling fans in every room. Two large covered terraces on each floor, with ceiling fans and patio furniture. The Gym has a Trotter treadmill, a bench and free weights. It is located in the downstairs combo room which includes a washer and dryer. The home also includes an office with daybed. The newly opened JW Marriott is located on the Hacienda Pinilla property, with 3 fine dining restaurants and luxurious 10,000 square foot spa.

Amazing!!! We have rented many many vacation rentals in Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Caribbean. We found Casa Orquidea to be among our very favorites. Our rental experience was perfectly executed, our needs were exceeded, and we left knowing that we will be renting this property again!
The House:
You can tell that the owners didn’t build this house to be an income property. They must stay here for a large portion of the year. It is very well appointed – from the kitchen (my biggest requisite), the theatre setup and game room upstairs, the pool (thoughtfully placed in the front yard because it gets the most possible sun in that location), the decor, and of course the bedrooms. Just beautiful!
The location:
Hacienda Pinilla is a real find! This was our third family trip to Costa Rica and by far our best experience. We even went shopping for a vacant lot while we were there but came to our senses when you consider how much easier it will be to just rent Casa Orquidea whenever we wish to return. We golfed every other day and it never got old. The beach club was fantastic and the beach itself is very family friendly with its gradual grade and very wide beach. Tamarindo is a casual drive and has plenty to do if you wish to spend some time in a nice surfing village. Do yourself a favor and visit Lola’s (Playa Avellana) and Villa Deevena (Playa Negra) early and often!
The culture:
Very friendly and accomodating. This is not one of those resort locations where the locals can’t stand all the outsiders crowding up there resources. The property manager (Maria, I think) was always within a phone call away. If she didn’t answer her cell phone, she got back to us within an hour every time.
We can’t wait to return!
